Resumo:
Adopting continuous practices, often associated with DevOps initiatives, in enterprise environments presents both opportunities and challenges, particularly when modernizing established systems. This study investigates the impact of continuous practices on software maintenance and evolution through a case study in the energy sector. The results indicate that continuous practices adoption reduces task waiting times and improves workflow predictability. However, it does not significantly reduce development effort, and deployment frequency remains influenced by organizational processes and infrastructure. This research examines these practices adoption in legacy enterprise systems, where existing architecture plays a critical role. These empirical insights contribute practical guidance for teams aiming to enhance efficiency in software delivery.
